Warwick's Story
Returning to Chinese Roots
Warwick was born in Wollongong, NSW and at an early age developed an interest in his Chinese heritage. In his early teens he became an avid martial artist, practicing Taekwondo. When he arrived in Melbourne in 1981 he took up Hapkido, a Korean martial art that involved more philosophy and some meditation. His teacher was a Korean master who also practiced as an Acupuncturist. When Warwick reached a certain proficiency in Hapkido, his teacher told him “Now that you can hurt someone, you must balance this by learning how to heal them” and so Warwick began an apprenticeship with him.
He later went on to study a four year full-time course in Traditional Chinese Medicine and qualified in 1985. In 2005 he graduated with a Masters degree in Acupuncture from the University of Western Sydney. With over twenty eight years experience in the field, he knows both his strengths and the limitations of the art.
Warwick has studied Feng Shui with Howard Choy, a one time Sydney architect from Hong Kong, now living in Europe. Warwick went to China in 1996 to continue these studies. In 2003 he began studying and practicing Medical Qigong under the tutelage of two Chinese masters. He is now qualified to teach Qigong and offers workshops and one to one tuition.
Warwick is married with two grown daughters. He enjoys tennis, table-tennis, swimming and archery. He is an avid reader and likes road trips.
