Our Experience with Meridian Massage

Therese Poon

This meridian massage technique is not like a traditional massage session you would get from a remedial massage therapist or myotherapist. Our meridian massage is more like an over the clothes acupressure technique that works diagnostically as well as therapeutically. If you're not sure if Meridian massage is right for you please feel free to get in touch and we'd be happy to discuss further.

Frequently Asked Questions

about Meridian Massage and Acupressure

What is Meridian Massage?

This Acupressure technique is unique in it's approach and was compiled and taught by renowned Chinese Medicine Doctor and Qigong Practitioner Dr. Bisong Guo. Dr. Guo's Meridian Massage is a quick yet effective acupressure technique done over the clothing. It follows the meridians along the body in a series of repetitions using deep then incrementally more shallow pressures each time.

What is Meridian Massage good for?

Dr. Guo's meridian massage can be used by the practitioner diagnositically (as the feeback from the meridian's when pressed is helpful to determine how and where the energy moves). But for the patient it is often relaxing helps to move the qi and addresses the areas of qi stasis. Meridian Massage can be useful for a variety of situations so if you're unsure if this is the right therapy for you please feel free to contact us any time.

What is Ear Acupressure?

Why do we mention ear acupressure here? Well, this is often done in conjunction with a meridian massage session. The ear is a great holographic representation of the whole body. We sometimes use the points around the ear (as they do in reflexology) to stimulate the Qi of those points. Ear acupressure can be done applying gentle, but firm, pressure on these various points. If needed, we can also use seeds or magnets attached to small band-aid style plasters so you can continue to press these points daily.
